The School and its Facilities:
St Bede’s is situated on an attractive site in the heart of Ormskirk and is accessible via the A59. Adjacent to our Parish church St Anne’s.
St Bede’s was built in …. and contains very pleasant and well-equipped buildings. There have been further developments over recent years with the addition 2 new outbuilding. More recently, there has been a complete refurbishment of the Sports centre and our 4g Astro Pitch.
Our facilities include:
A brand new 3g Astro pitch.
State of the arts Sport’s facilities.
An art and design area.
6 science laboratories.
4 Computer rooms equipped with computers and high-speed internet connection.
An extremely well-appointed music suite.
An excellent, state of the art drama studio.
The sporting facilities include:
Sports hall.
Gymnasium.
9 V 9, all weather, floodlit synthetic 3g Astro pitch for soccer, hockey, and netball.
Changing rooms.
2 grass pitches.
Additional facilities:
Prayer room.
An outstanding library/resources area with additional computer facilities.
Green spaces for pupils to enjoy and cultivate plants, vegetables, and fruits.
Future Developments:
As we continue to modernise, classrooms are now being equipped with large 65 inch monitors and teaching staff utilise hand held tablets to project onto the screens. Just over 50% of our classrooms contain these monitors and there are plans to equip the others in the near future. This makes it much clearer to see the displays and enables the teacher to have a more interactive role with the pupils.
During 2020-21, our current dining facilities were upgraded and enlarged to account for increased numbers of pupils.
